We are proud to introduce the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO) 2025 to schools across Laos. This initiative is part of our continued efforts to provide students in Laos with access to globally recognized math competitions that promote excellence, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of mathematics.

SASMO was launched in 2006 by the Singapore International Math Contests Centre (SIMCC) and has grown to become one of the largest and most prestigious mathematics competitions in Asia. In 2024, over 57,000 students from 38 countries and territories took part, and the 2025 edition is set to expand even further, welcoming participants from more than 40 countries worldwide.

Unlike traditional math contests that focus solely on speed or memory, SASMO strikes a unique balance between school-level mathematics and Olympiad-style problem-solving. It is designed for students from Grades 1 to 12 and helps develop Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in a supportive and engaging environment.

Our goal in bringing SASMO to Laos is to challenge, inspire, and empower students from diverse backgrounds, helping them develop not just mathematical ability, but also confidence, perseverance, and global perspective. Through this competition, students will experience problem-solving techniques that go beyond the classroom, giving them a head start in both academic and real-world scenarios.

By joining SASMO 2025, students in Laos will:

• Compete on a prestigious international platform

• Strengthen their logical reasoning and critical thinking skills

• Qualify for advanced rounds such as SIMOC (Singapore), IJMO, and SMGF

• Be exposed to international standards and problem-solving methods

This initiative aligns with our vision to prepare students in Laos to be future-ready, globally competitive, and confident learners.

Online E-certificates and performance reports are provided for all participants. Gold, Silver and Bronze medalist will receive a medal and certificate. Perfect scorers will receive a Perfect score personalised Medallion. All Award winners are also invited to compete in the SIMOC 2025 in Singapore.

Students also qualify for Scholarship Points (SPs).
